What are dunnage bags?
They are polywoven bags, constructed of level 1, level 2, level 3-4 or Level 5 of fabric with a polyethylene bladder used to restrain loads in rail cars, containers or trucks. Dunnage bags are load securement materials to protect products from getting damaged in cause of shipting during transportation.

Why use dunnage air bags versus other materials?
Dunnage bags are less expensive than other materials such as lumber, nails,  they also reduce labor costs.


How do I determine what size dunnage bag to use?
First, measure the void between your cargo. Then measure the distance from the floor to the top of the load.When the dunnage bag is inflated, it shall contact 2/3 of cargo's surface area..

Do dunnage bags require any type of protection during use?
It is important to place cardbord or similer material  on the side of the dunnage bag where there are rough surface or sharp objects.

What type of equipment is necessary to inflate International Dunnage bags?
Internationa filling tools must be used.

Can dunnage bags be damaged during filling?
Bags can burst with over inflation. (Each bag has a label with recommended pressure). Problems will be eliminated by following the inflation check list.

Can dunnage bags be used as primary load securement for hazardous products?
No, it can only be used as supplementary material.

Can dunnage bags be used in air cargo?
No, they burst in high altitude pressure.
